Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to bloggers, fans, friends and social media users to give his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, some breathing space as she continues to recover from her recent health challenges.
The lawmaker made the appeal in a statement shared on his social media page on Monday, expressing concern over Daniels’ well-being and the spread of what he described as false information about her health and personal life.
According to Nwoko, the actress needs support and understanding rather than criticism, adding that their children also deserve to see their mother surrounded by love and encouragement.
“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space,” he said.
He further explained that his appeal was also for the sake of their children, who he said were well cared for and deserved every opportunity to see their mother recover.
Nwoko noted that Daniels had faced personal difficulties that many people might not fully understand, urging the public to approach her situation with compassion.
“Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me,” the senator stated.
He also expressed concern over the circulation of fabricated death announcements, misleading reports and other disturbing content about the actress.
According to him, such publications could cause serious emotional distress and should not be treated as harmless social media engagement.
The senator warned that individuals deliberately spreading false information about Daniels, particularly concerning her health or alleged death, could face legal consequences.
Nwoko said the publications were being documented and that those responsible would be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels.
Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko’s Marital Crisis
The appeal comes amid the ongoing marital dispute between Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District in the Senate, and Daniels.
The couple got married in 2019 and share two sons. However, their relationship became a subject of public controversy in October 2025, following allegations and counter-allegations on social media.
Daniels had previously accused Nwoko of abusive and controlling behaviour, allegations the senator denied.
Nwoko, on his part, attributed their marital problems to alleged substance abuse by the actress, a claim Daniels also disputed.
Regina Daniels Opens Up About Health Challenges
On October 10, 2026, Daniels marked her birthday with a social media video in which she spoke about health challenges that had affected her mobility and kept her away from social media.
The actress reportedly described experiencing severe pain and difficulty walking after what initially appeared to be a minor health issue.
She also expressed gratitude for the improvement in her condition.
Nwoko referenced the birthday video in his latest statement, saying it offered the public a glimpse into the difficulties Daniels had been experiencing.
He urged members of the public to allow the actress to focus on her recovery without subjecting her to unnecessary criticism, pressure or emotional distress.
Despite the appeal, Nwoko did not explicitly announce a reconciliation with Daniels, leaving the status of their marriage unclear.
